Research on the Job Satisfaction of Architectural Designers

Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (MJSQ) is a widely used instrument to measure the job satisfaction of professionals around the world. Although it has been used in various disciplines to assess the job satisfaction level of professionals, architectural designers do not appear to have received adequate attention. Sezer Savaş (M.Arch.), my student in the Project and Construction Management masters program at Istanbul Technical University, uses now the instrument to understand the factors which affect the job satisfaction levels of designers over their career life cycle including the early-, mid- and late-career stages.

The questionnaire, which has been delivered to Istanbul-based designers with the support of the Istanbul Chamber of Architects, is available at http://veti.itu.edu.tr/form/acare/istatmini and open to your participation.
